TAB TOURNAMENT WRAP
First and foremost,  we would like to thank each and every one of you who helped make the TAB Tournament a great success.  Not only was the hospitality room another smashing success, the tournament ran smoothly due to the efforts of boosters, and our dedicated group of wrestling parents.

Each year, the TAB Tournament seeks out the best talent from around the state. This year's up-graded competition challenged the Tiger Wrestling team. Still though, the B team managed a 28th place finish (Phil Switz 6th, and Glenn Taylor 8th).  The A team finished just of out the top 10 with an 11th place finish.

While the coaching staff found this to be a minor disappointment, there were many positives take into consideration.  For instance, 6 athletes placed including (Anthony Askins 5th, Alec Detweiler 8th, Derrik Crosby 7th, Eric Murdock 4th, Darius Jones 2nd, and Trevor Bruce 5th).

We look forward to another productive season with over 23 returning 7th graders, and a nice group of 6th graders joining the program.

Best Wrestling Shoes

As a coach I have been asked a number of times "What shoes should I get for my athlete?"  I have found there are shoes for every type of athlete. However, having had the opportunity to coach at youth, middle, and high school levels, I favor the Asics brand over rival competition.

In a recent blog post on Yappi, that vast majority of responders stated that the Asics was the most durable and often times the most affordable product. While there are a wide variety of wrestling shoes to choose from, other bloggers responded that the Asics wrestling shoe met many of the basic criteria they were looking for in a shoe.

Sure, there are parents out there who will spend $100.00-$150.00 on a pair of wrestling shoes for their athlete. Yet, when an apples to apples comparison of wrestling shoes is made, Asics Matflex seems to be a hands-down winner in such categories such as durability, comfort, and design.

The best wrestling shoes becomes more or less the product that meets the needs of your athlete and wallet.
